Terms of Use

How ZeytinCheck handles product data, image recognition, source claims and correction requests.

Last updated: 17 October 2026

Important: This page explains our information practices; it is not legal advice or a laboratory guarantee.
Operator: Andrei Slipchenko (individual) · Personal data controller (Turkish KVKK): Andrei Slipchenko · Contact: [email protected]

1. Scope and nature of the service

These Terms explain the ZeytinCheck website, its educational pages and links to the ZeytinCheck application. ZeytinCheck is designed as an information and product discovery service to help consumers identify olive oils and understand product information.

The website does not itself enter into a sale, certify products, perform regulatory inspections, or claim to provide accredited laboratory testing. Nothing here removes rights that applicable law grants to users.

2. Product information and source types

Product name, producer, cultivar, harvest year, acidity, polyphenol value, certification, price and other details may come from packaging labels, producer statements, retailer listings, public documents and, where available, laboratory reports. These forms of evidence are not interchangeable.

  • Product label A statement printed on a bottle or package.
  • Producer statement Information supplied by a brand or producer, not independently verified by that fact alone.
  • Independent analysis A category to use only where a verifiable third-party laboratory report supports the specific product or batch.
  • Editorial explanation Educational context drawn from research or sources, not a test of a specific bottle.

These labels are an explanation of source types; they do not imply that every catalogue record has all these evidence categories. Independent verification should only be claimed when a relevant report actually supports it. Do not treat undated or unsourced values as definitive.

3. Image recognition and accuracy limitations

Photo-based identification and visual product matching can give incorrect matches, incomplete records or wrong product variants. Package designs, bottle sizes and harvest years may look similar. Always compare a result with the front and back labels on your actual bottle.

A match does not establish the authenticity, origin, quality or regulatory compliance of a specific bottle. If the match appears wrong, you can report an error.

4. Quality measurements, pricing and comparisons

Acidity, polyphenols and other laboratory values are batch- and test-date-specific. They are not permanent characteristics of a cultivar or brand. Unless explicitly documented otherwise, a displayed value was not independently measured by ZeytinCheck.

Prices, stock, offers and retailer details may change. Any displayed price is informational; verify current conditions with the seller. Content priorities or comparisons are not official quality rankings or scientific grades for producers.

5. Health and nutrition information

Content is for general educational purposes, not medical diagnosis, treatment or personalised dietary advice. Consult a qualified health professional for individual decisions. Research on olive oil does not guarantee a health outcome from a particular bottle or for a particular consumer.

6. Content, third-party rights and external sites

ZeytinCheck text, compilations and branded visual assets are subject to the rights of their respective holders. Producer names, product marks, logos and packaging belong to their owners. Featuring a product does not imply endorsement, partnership or sponsorship by that producer.

External links can lead to third-party websites. Please review those providers' content, transaction and privacy terms. Please respect intellectual-property rights and do not republish content in a misleading way.

7. Corrections and disputes

Producers, distributors, retailers and users can flag wrong matches, inaccurate product data, missing source context or outdated details. The correction request page explains what evidence is helpful and how to contact us.

Review may lead to verification, correction, clarification or consideration of temporary removal. Submitting a request does not promise an automatic change or a fixed response time. Contact: [email protected].

8. Privacy and personal data

For information on optional image submissions, error reports and email correspondence, see our Privacy Policy (available in Turkish). These Terms do not substitute for any applicable personal-data transparency notice. Do not send identity documents, faces or unnecessary personal data in a correction request.

For processing purposes, legal grounds and data-subject rights under Turkish law, see the KVKK Notice.

9. Legal rights, updates and contact

These Terms explain the service and its information limits transparently. They should not be interpreted as excluding non-excludable legal duties or statutory consumer rights. Content and service features may change; material updates to these Terms will be published with a date.

Questions: [email protected]. Seek advice from a qualified lawyer regarding the application of these terms to your circumstances.
